FOX Picks Up ‘Mobbed’ After Premiere
(NewsCore) – LOS ANGELES — FOX Broadcasting ordered eight episodes of Howie Mandel’s reality TV show “Mobbed” Friday after the show’s Thursday premiere struck ratings gold, Deadline reported.
The program, which features a flash mob — a large group of dancers and singers that show up at places at the spur-of-the-moment — that surprises unsuspecting participants, attracted nearly 11 million total viewers.
In the series’ debut, producers helped a nervous man named Jason propose to his girlfriend of three years and then staged a subsequent surprise wedding, moments after his shocked flame, Nikki, said “yes.”

Nearly one thousand people gathered at a mall in Los Angeles to join the mob as Justin popped the question and then tied the knot.
The special aired directly after FOX’s “American Idol” results show that drew over 24 million viewers as two contestants were booted off, one week after “Idol” hopeful Casey Abrams was saved by judges in a momentous decision.
FOX Television is owned by News Corporation, which also owns NewsCore.
