The bob – celeb style
If there is one hairstyle that has defined 2011 it has to be the bob. From style crush Alexa Chung to Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton, to Pirates of the Caribbean actress Keira Knightley and pop star Jessie J, the bob has graced many a red carpet as the celebs have all embraced the style. It is definitely one of the most popular 2011 hairstyles.
What’s more, it is an incredibly versatile look – you don’t just have to go for a short bob to get the look. Instead you can work it in a variety of lengths and styles.
For a relaxed boho look you could channel Alexa Chung’s shaggy style bob which falls a few centimetres past her chin. Alexa shows that a bob doesn’t have to be poker straight to look good and instead styles hers with boho waves. Keira Knightley shows that a bob can be worn smooth and sleek or with curls and waves, as she has shaken up her style a number of times on the red carpet.
If you don’t want to go too short you could take inspiration from Fearne Cotton, who in the summer opted for a Lob (or long bob). Her laid back look skimmed her shoulders and looked uber glam, while Jessie J is known for her sharp cut bob and blunt fringe.
As the celebs prove, the bob is a truly versatile look and can be easily changed to suit your mood.
