NEW YORK –  Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are bringing their star power to Fox’s “The X Factor.”

The network officially announced Monday what had been a poorly kept secret, that Spears will join Simon Cowell’s music competition for its second season.

Speaking Monday at his network’s upfront presentation, held once again at Radio City Music Hall, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt called the multiple Emmy-winning show “synonymous with wit and originality” and said it would conclude with an hour-long series finale. He later told the Los Angeles Times that he thought the series would be “charged up” as it went into its home stretch.

“30 Rock” returned this year in January, its debut delayed by creator and star Tina Fey’s pregnancy.

Phoenix project manager Tom Gearing was seen in a previously released clip from tonight’s episode showing off his street art knowledge, although Nick Hewer is seen to have reservations about how successful his pitch with teammate Laura Hogg really was.

Margie Cummins, second from left, is the 2012 winner of The Biggest Loser.

BRISBANE’S Margie Cummins has become the third consecutive woman and Queenslander to win The Biggest Loser.

The 34-year-old nearly halved her body weight, losing a whopping 73.2kg over three months, to take out the Loser title and $220,000 grand prize tonight.

Cummins narrowly beat Victoria’s Alex Zorzi, who lost 44.68 percent of his body weight compared to her 46.01 percent.

Fellow Brisbane resident Kasey Cheesman came in third place, losing 54kg, and Sydney’s Brenda Hunt came in fourth with a loss of 36.67 percent of her body weight.

Cummins said she owed a huge debt to her trainer Michelle Bridges.

Despite Bridges being a trainer on all seven series of The Biggest Loser, Cummins was her first contestants to win the final weigh-in.

“She put a lot of time and effort into me,” Cummins said.

“As much as I wanted it for myself, I also wanted it for her as well.

Classical music fans have a May 3 concert to look forward to as Latvian-born cellist Mischa Maisky, acclaimed as one of the best cellists of our time, returns to Toronto for the first time in 34 years. 

The occasion is a special one. It is Maisky’s friend Yuri Bashmet’s 60th birthday this year and the 20th anniversary of the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra.

Bashmet, one of the greatest contemporary viola players and the director of the Symphony Orchestra of New Russia, is also a leading conductor and the founder of the Grammy-winning Moscow Soloists.

The concert, featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, Haydn, and Tchaikovsky, is part of a North American tour by the Moscow Soloists to several U.S cities, including Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. Toro

While Donald Glover may have missed his chance to play Spider-Man , hes otherwise been no stranger to the comics pageinspiring Brian Michael Bendis updated take on Peter Parker, turning up in Kickpuncher #1, and now, landing his rap alter ego Childish Gambino in a forthcoming issue of Image Comics The Lil Depressed Boy. In a collaboration with Glover sparked by mutual appreciation, issue #10 of S. Steven Struble and Sina Graces comic will see its titular mopey, anthropomorphized rag doll attending a Childish Gambino concert, which inspires him to climb out of his cocoon and experience the world, according to the press release, setting Depressed Boy on an ongoing story arc that, according to his creators, will mirror the themes of Gambinos Camp album.

We at Fox 411 Country are counting down to the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards and spotlight several artists taking that Las Vegas Stage April 1st.

Before he heads to Las Vegas for both the ACM Awards and the April 2nd ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends in Concert, the music icon stopped by Fox 411 Country. 

Richie told us about his new country duets album “Tuskegee” featuring 13 of his hits performed as duets with country stars including Jennifer Nettles, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Kenny Chesney and more.  The Grammy-winning legend talked about the tunes, hitting the road, and his excitement about being part of all of these celebrations of country music.  Richie is also on the list of performers for the 47th Annual ACM Awards, airing Sunday April 1st on CBS.

A bluefin, which can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh up to a ton, can net as much as $20,000, we’re told.

Nat Geo doesn’t skirt the distressing issue: The bluefin tuna population is 25 percent of what it was during the 1950s.

Due to the popularity of sushi, the bluefin is being hunted to the brink of extinction.

For the fishermen here, however, who operate during a tightly regulated season, the fish represents food, clothes and mortgage payments.

Many find themselves addicted to the chase.

Lydia Hantke has been eliminated from The Biggest Loser.

TONIGHT saw one of the biggest threats in the game eliminated from The Biggest Loser.  

Lydia Hantke from Tasmania fell below the yellow line after having gained 400 grams.  

It had already been a tough week for the 34-year-old.   In a desperate attempt to win immunity, she consumed eight cupcakes in temptation but sadly just missed out on the golden pass.  

Then while suffering a knee injury, she lost a raft-building competition along with fellow team mate Kasey Cheesman and as a result, had to endure 24 hours of lock down with no trainer and only a spin bike to share between the two of them.
